Timeframe from s2 application to hearing

Would you know how long for when a tribunal date is confirmed for appealing section 2? Thanks.

Good question. Possible answers:

  1. Soon
  2. Whenever
  3. How long is a piece of string?
  4. Nobody knows
  5. Nobody cares

Unfortunately I deal with the real world. And so ‘nobody’ likes my possible answers.

The rules recently changed the requirement from 7 days to 10 days, but I believe the hearing is usually still held within 7 days of the application being received. There’s some background information here: Section 2: admission for assessment - Mental Health Law Online.
