MHA certificate course/training

Hi

I recall Northumbria University used to offer a MHA certificate course some years ago - does anyone know if they still do by any chance or any other equivalent courses/certificates available as part of training and development for MH Admin?

Also if anyone can sign post to any training around Part III MHA sections - that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve a bit of a conflict of interests here because I want you to get good answers but I also want people to pay £75 to advertise their courses at Events - Mental Health Law Online

Peter Edwards runs two directly relevant courses, though they’re one-day courses so not quite what Northumbria used to have. I don’t know about future courses but here are the most recent:

The University of Northumbria continue to run a PGCert in Mental Health Law. A very similar course is provided by University of Exeter and University of East Anglia

NHSE set a national curriculum for these courses as part of their programme for the training of multiple professionals to become Approved Clinician via Portfolio Route. All three universities amended their courses and revalidated as a requirement of the NHSE tendering process. The national curriculum is here Approved Clinicians and Responsible Clinicians (AC/RC) | NHS England | Workforce, training and education

The course leads are
Northumbria: Carole Burrell carole.burrell@northumbria.ac.uk
Exeter: Sarah Dobson on their generic email MHWP@exeter.ac.uk
UEA: Peter Beazley P.Beazley@uea.ac.uk
