Mental health Act 1983: Legal book recommendations?

I’m looking for easy (not necessarily easy; quality is more important to me) to read book recommendations for anyone looking to learn about mental health law.

If any of these books provide case studies/ its application into real situations etc - or some form of tuition to train yourself in that specific area - that would be grand!

Thank you to anyone who chooses to reply.

Thanks Andrew.

With hard work; careful thought - won’t need luck! Maybe a little :crossed_fingers:

Thanks Tony for the names - It can get confusing when it comes to names. Especially if they are similar to something you are familiar with.

Did you mean Brenda Hale instead of Barbara Hale?

It must be Brenda Hale, Mental Health Law (6th edn, Sweet and Maxwell 2017). It’s the only mental health law book I’ve read from cover to cover (an earlier edition).

A good book for you would be Neil Hickman and Christine Hutchison, The Mental Health Tribunal: An Essential Guide (Sage 2021).

Thanks Jonathan.

Clicked on the link then another link which directed me to the UK bookshop website - there are many useful books.

Going to have to start saving up :money_mouth_face:
