Do any legal representatives/panel members have access to any external professional supervision, other than the supervision requirements of work under the legal aid contract? I am conscious that as professionals we sometimes experience some difficult situations/hear upsetting information/have difficult clients, which may have an emotional impact on us and take its toll. I would like to try to investigate finding some occasional support for our team, but am not sure where to turn. Any thoughts?
Really good question Louise and something I’ve often thought about. I suppose big firms might have access to some employee wellbeing scheme or similar
I think for most of us it’s simply a case of talking to colleagues and hoping for the best
It’s a great question and I agree with Rob! I am not sure I have ever heard of it either! Maybe ask your employer stating that it’s not about traditional supervision
Thank you for your replies. I have asked my employer and they are sympathetic, but have asked me to investigate…
