Detained under S3 and then Placed on S37

Good afternoon, after a little bit of guidance. We have a patient who is detained under S3 of the MHA who we have just found out was also placed by the court on S37. What happens to the S3? Does it continue to run at the same time or is it ended when the S37 started.
