Please how should mental health act assessments be conducted at home if children are present?
In my experience the AMHP needs to try their utmost to have the children looked after by another family member outside of their home when the MHA assessment takes place, as it is incredibly disturbing for them. If this is not possible the AMHP should take another person from MH services or local authority Children’s Social Care with them, who could then possibly take them out for the duration of the interview and aftermath.

Some one needs to take them into a separate room or involve any grandparents etc or a social worker different from AMHP etc.
