— In this reference by the Criminal Cases Review Commission it was argued that the conviction for murder was unsafe and should be replaced by diminished responsibility manslaughter. The Court of Appeal refused to admit fresh psychiatric evidence as it did not contain any material which had not already been properly considered at trial. The appeal would have been dismissed on all grounds in any event.
