Case (Ill-treatment conviction appeal). R v Banner [2024] EWCA Crim 1201

— The defendants, who had been convicted of multiple counts of ill-treatment of a person in care at Whorlton Hall hospital, contrary to s20 Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015, unsuccessfully appealed on the basis that the judge had failed to give an adequate definition of the term "ill-treatment" and should should have acceded to submissions of no case to answer.
