Yes - this is happening more often. I am aware of two S140 directions in the last 3 weeks. One to my ward. S140 Mental Health Act 1983
It’s like a bolt of lightening!! Beds are found magically! People run around like headless chickens - faster of course. Patients are discharged or sent on leave swiftly - after management heat.
Well, nobody pushes me to discharge or send anybody on leave if it’s not safe and legal to do so. The most ‘high command’ can do is get rid of ‘the obstacle’ - but nobody is gonna force my neck into the guillotine at the sacrificial altar at the GMC!
