# Automatic Tribunal S37

If a person is on a S3 and has an automatic tribunal for the S3 renewal on 19/05/2023, he is then put on S37 then this is renewed does he need an automatic tribunal again for the S37 or would the last tribunal still count so it would be 3years from 19/05/2023

Neither, I think. It’d be three years from the date of the hospital order. There’s no automatic six month referral for s37 patients (unless they’ve been transferred from s37 guardianship) - para 10(b) Sch 1 MHA.
